Happy New Year!!!

So, I know I haven't blogged since the day after the election. Guess after all that stress I needed a break. I've been working an awful lot, and there was the holidays and Alabama football and all kinds of things to take my attention away from writing. I have to say, while I'm sad Alabama lost the Sugar Bowl, was it not a great year?? 12-0 in the regular season. Seriously, at the beginning of the season, who really thought Alabama would go undefeated? NO ONE!!! I'm proud of the coaches and players who put this together. Utah was a really good opponent, but it was apparent that the guys had just run out of steam. Utah played a fast paced game, and with all the distractions of Andre' Smith and his absence and the heartbreaking loss in the SEC championship, I guess they just didn't have enough to finish strong. And isn't that what Nick Saban has been preaching, finishing? I have no doubt that Alabama is back and is going to get better and better every year. So, ROLL TIDE!!!!

Well, after a lot of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears (okay, maybe not the tears), I finally earned my Bachelor's degree!! I actually officially graduated in August, but the graduation wasn't until December, and I just received my diploma yesterday. Here it is...

Pretty sweet huh?? And check it out...Magna Cum Laude!! Well, don't feel bad if you missed my graduation...so did I. I didn't send out invitations and I didn't go, although I wish I had. Would've been cool to walk. However, if anyone feels the need to send a graduation gift, I'll gladly accept it!! I'll even send back a thank you note. Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, in nursing (at least in Alabama) a Bachelor's degree does absolutely nothing for my paycheck. I make just as much as an Associate's prepared nurse with the same amount of experience. I think I see a Master's degree in my future somewhere. A Bachelor's does put a few more career options out there for me. Well, just had to boast a little bit.

Good luck to everyone in 2009. May God bless us all in this new year. Try a little harder to keep your new year's resolutions this year. That's my resolution, to keep the other resolutions.
